DONATIONS FAQ

Hi there, thank you for your interest in supporting the Realm of Aloria. We have recieved a trumendous amount of support in the lifetime of the server, and we appreciate it so much. Before you make the decision to pledge please read our FAQ in its entirity.

Please note we maintain the right to edit, alter, or adjust these parameters at any time as applicable situations arise and deem doing so necessary. 

 

HOW DO I DONATE:
You may choose to donate through patreon, a reoccuring donations platform, or you may choose to make a one time donation via paypal. Both donations options offer the same point rewards per tier.

HOW DOES PATREON WORK
When you make a pledge on patreon you are charged the amount of your pledge immediately at the time of your donation. You will also be charged for this pledge on the first of each month until you cancel your subscription to the Realm. If you choose the reoccurring donations method you will receive a reward point payout on the second of every month. Please ensure you have filled out a #patreon-names-form in discord so that we can keep track of who you are and where to award points each month.

DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS FOR DONATION
We do not offer refunds for donations themselves, or for reward redemptions. Please only pledge if you are sure you want to contribute to the longevity and development of the server, and only redeem a reward if you are sure it is the reward you want.

IVE MADE MY DONATION, NOW WHAT?

Once you have made a donation please direct message the server owner (Mariah) on discord, with your chosen donations meathod, the amount of your pledge, and your name on the platform you donated through. Afterward she will set you up with your points and ranks!

WHAT DO DONATIONS GO TOWARDS:
Donations primarily go towards all associated fees for running a server both remotely and at home. This includes: server hosting fees, website fees, discord nitro boosts, and internet services. Beyond these associated fees, additional donations go towards staff giveaways and support of the server owner to ensure they have adequate time and finances to continue to run and maintain the server, and to create future content updates.

WHY SHOULD I DONATE:
You should only donate if you are interested in supporting the server, its longevity, and the development of future content updates. Aloria will always be a free to play server, your donations just ensure that the server is around to be enjoyed.

DO I GET SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR BEING A PATREON
Beyond patreon point rewards and our gratitude the answer is no. We treat all members of the community the same, and hold everyone accountable to the same rules and standards as any other player. We do not tolerate donators using donations as an argument for why you should get your desired way in any situation. If you are found using your patreon status as leverage in arguments against staff, we maintain the right to cancel your future pledges and revoke your points.

CAN I USE POINTS FOR THINGS NOT LISTED IN THE DONATIONS REWARDS LIST
The answer is no. However you may suggest a new item/service be added by using the #item-requests channel of the Aloria discord for consideration.

CAN I USE REWARDS TO UP MY BUILDING LIMITS?

The answer is no. Building limits are in place to ensure server stability. Beyond that keeping track of which clan has an upgraded building allowances would be near impossible to track.

CAN I PURCHASE ITEMS FOR A FRIEND:
You may. However, we ask that you redeem the items for yourself and give them to the person you are gifting. We think its great you want to share, but we are not a postal service. If the person you are gifting is a patreon themselves you can instead transfer points to them, at which time the points will be deducted from your balance and added to theirs.

DO I HAVE TO BE ONLINE TO REDEEM A REWARD
Yes, you should be online and ready to be helped when you make a redemption. This means that you are logged in, and available to claim your reward. We have to stop what we're doint to deliver the reward, and ask that you give us the same curtesy by taking a second to claim your item when you are tagged.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECIEVE MY PATREON REWARD
After you fill out a redemption form in #point-log we will get to you as soon as possible. If it takes more than 4 hours to recieve your reward please ask for an available staff member in #contact-an-admin to assist you.

AM I BUYING A VIRTUAL ITEM WHEN I MAKE A REDEMPTION
The simple answer is no. We do not own the items or content to be sold and the item ceases to exist when the current server season ends. The point value of the item is based on the service provided when awarding the item, not for the item itself. Your points are redeemed for the service of having a live human being to award you the item.

HOW REDEMPTION SERVICES WORK:
Redemption services are a one time set up for specific items, such as roleplay warps, musiqboxes and item redemptions. These set ups are factored into the price of each reward. We will give you your item, or set up your reward only one time. We are not responsible for lost items, so please be careful. Because we tend to have 100 patreons at any given time we cannot be held responsible for moving or replacing items. Please be sure your item is placed, named, set up the way you want the first time.

WHAT ARE SEASON CHANGES AND DO I GET TO KEEP MY REWARDS DURING SEASON CHANGES?
Season changes are fresh wipes of the server. Approximately once every 2-4months we wipe the server, redo the main hub and its contents, and start fresh. This is extremely important because the longer a season goes on, the more cluttered the database and server files become, and the more buggy the game Conan gets. When you redeem a patreon reward it is valid in only the current season. Please pay attention to the date in the servers name. This will give some idea of how far along in the season we are.

ARE THERE ANY PERMANENT DONATION REWARDS:
Yes! Your patreon rank (based on your tier level), your access to our patreon-chats and point-logs never go away. We also offer custom discord ranks and colors that are yours to keep so long as you are a member of the discord. You also get a permanent spot in our patreon hall of fame.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHARACTER DIES OR APPLIES FOR JUDGEMENT:

If a character dies and loses all its roleplay lives, or if you apply for judgement to store or permakill your character any previous patreon rewards on that character will be destroyed, as items and builds do not carry over between characters.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I LEAVE THE DISCORD:
If you leave the community your points will be moved to storage to reclaim if you come back, and you will lose any currently redeemed patreon rewards. If you come back just ask in #contact-an-admin to have your patreon rank reverified and your points restored.

WHY DO YOU PUT POINTS IN STORAGE
If a player leaves the discord or has been inactive for an extended amount of time points may be stored. This is to keep our running tally of point balances in point-log clean, and able to be copied and pasted in a single message.

DO YOU PAY TAXES ON DONATIONS.

Yes! Approximately 30% of all donations are paid to the US government each tax season as is required for business owners in my country.
